Making Marketing a Priority During Coronavirus

  • Apr 24, 2020

When it comes to marketing your business, it isn’t “business as usual” during the COVID-19 crisis.  Marketing messages that have worked in the past may seem hollow or insensitive given the current climate, but that doesn’t mean that you should stop promoting your business.

In fact, your business could flatten or plummet if you let your marketing fall off. But there’s a lot that you can do right now to keep in touch with your customers, build your business and get ready for the future.  And doing things now will pay dividends in the long run.

Communicate.  With stay-at-home orders in effect, many people are feeling out of control while craving connection and reassurance.  Make sure that you are communicating with your clients often, giving them information that they find useful and interesting.  Don’t over-burden them with sales pitches … help them to feel like you are in this together and that you’re available and ready to help.  Whether it’s through email, text, social media or a phone call, let your presence be known.

Innovate.  Your business needs to be flexible and able to adapt quickly to the environment.  Think about different ways that you can deliver your products or services to your clients.  Is there something that you offer that will help your clients through these difficult times?

Here at Wearable Imaging, we are focusing efforts on finding and sourcing products that are most needed right now: hand sanitizers, face masks, gloves, etc.  We’ve also thought about those that are working at home for the first time and offering product suggestions for home offices, cybersecurity and more.  And, as we always say, it’s important to let your customers know how much you appreciate them, so we’ve been offering working with clients on suggestions for simple, easy-to-mail promotional products that would fit the bill.

The point is, be creative as you approach your business and your marketing.  There are opportunities to help your community and succeed – you just need to think outside the box.

Improve.  Now is an excellent time to improve your marketing initiatives.  Take time to review your website and make appropriate changes to create better connection.  (And even check to make sure your website is positioned to reach your Ideal Client.  If you need a quick insight into Ideal Client, we take a quick look here).  If you’ve been neglecting your social media, start posting more frequently in ways that engage your audience.  Take meetings online with Zoom or GoToMeeting not just to make a sale but to connect with your clients.  Hold webinars to educate your clients on a new topic.  Embrace video to share tips and inspiration.  Review your online profiles and directory listings (especially GoogleMyBusiness) to see where you can improve.  By taking the time now to improve your marketing efforts, you’ll be ahead of the curve when the nation starts to open up again.

Are you ready to make marketing a priority? Do you have questions about how to do just that?  I can and want to help.  Give us a call at 949.888.7837 or email us at sales@wearableimaging.com to set up your complimentary strategy session.  Let us share with you some ideas on how to stay productive and connected while working from home.
